Hollis Smith and Vee Stone love helping women look beautiful for special occasions.

That's why, in 2004, the two friends opened Trousseau, a dress shop that features elegant women's wear for all kinds of occasions - including weddings, charity events, cocktail parties, and debutante parties - plus shoes, purses and jewelry to complete the look.

The co-owners say the feedback from their customers has been fabulous. "When customers come through the door they say they're thrilled we're here and we are really filling a niche that was needed in Greenville."

In fact, Stone and Smith had previously worked in retail and both relished the idea of owning their own shop. The two women met through their daughters years ago.

The shop - inspired by a phone call - gives the owners and opportunity to meet a variety of women and renew old acquaintances, which they find satisfying.

"What a perfect job for us, " Stone says. "We get to shop and work with beautiful clothes!"
